Akasha outreach
At Akasha, we want to have a positive impact on the health and welfare of our local and global community. Here are some of the ways we have reached out:
Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce
We are an active member and have volunteered time, money and energy for various Chamber-sponsored events and charities.
Crystal Lake Food Pantry
We have donated funds and supplies for the local food pantry.
Crystal Lake Park District
We contributed to a Park District charity fundraiser.
Crystal Lake Public Library
We contributed to a Public Library fundraiser to support the summer reading program.
Fishes and Loaves
We raised funds and volunteered for an event where we fed over 220 families.
Himalayan Institute African "Moving Forward" project
We participated in this rural empowerment project for the African nation of Cameroon by selling mugs. With the funds we raised, more than 1200 Artemesia trees will be planted in a large-scale community tree plantation.
Miscellaneous McHenry County schools and organizations
We have donated over thirty gift certificates for raffles and other fund-raisers in our community.
Relay for Life
We participated in a twelve-hour walk to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
St. Jude's Children's Hospital
We sponsored a three-hour Yogathon that raised funds for the children’s research hospital founded by Danny Kaye.
